NAKAE NO MORI

Our forests account for 1/6,000th of all of Japan's land area,
covering a total of 6,458 ha.

With approximately 70% of its land area covered in forests, Japan is one of the world's most celebrated "forest countries."

Since its inception some 135 years ago, Nakae Sangyo Co., Ltd. has been steadily and stably engaged in business activities employing well-planned forestry management, and it now owns a total of 6,458 ha of forested land, or approximately 1/6,000th of Japan's land area.

We are committed to countering global warming countermeasures and insuring biodiversity protection through the preservation, development, and efficient use of the precious resources provided by our forests.

Certification under the Offset Credit (J-VER) Scheme

the Offset Credit (J-VER) Scheme
Our forests in Tokushima and Gifu Prefectures have been certified under the Offset Credit (J-VER) Scheme established by the Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOEJ).
Offset Credit (J-VER) Scheme:
Under this scheme, the MOEJ certifies the amount of reduction/forest absorption of CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions generated from domestic projects. It then issues credits that can be used for carbon offsetting. The funds generated through trading of credits issued for forest carbon sinks are utilized for forest development, thus helping preserve CO2 absorbents, improve water-holding capacity, prevent global warming, and conserve biodiversity.

Certification/Registration under the J-CREDIT Scheme

the J-CREDIT Scheme
We have received credits from the government-run J-CREDIT Scheme for our forests in Tokushima and Gifu Prefectures. We have also registered our forests in Kochi, Tokushima, Kyoto, Gifu, and Fukui Prefectures for the same scheme.
J-CREDIT Scheme:
Under this scheme, the government certifies the amount of CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions reduced or absorbed through efforts to introduce energy-saving equipment and/or manage forests sustainably. It then issues credits that can be used for carbon offsetting. The funds generated through the trading of credits issued for forest carbon sinks are utilized for forest development, thus helping preserve CO2 absorbents, improve water-holding capacity, prevent global warming, and conserve biodiversity.
